What this is

The Europe Switch is a guide, not a shop. We curate European-designed and European-assembled consumer tech hardware, and help you find it at EU retailers. The name says it all: switch your tech to European.

There are good directories for European software (european-alternatives.eu, EuroAlternative). Nobody was doing the same for hardware: phones, laptops, routers, headphones, coffee machines. That's the gap we're filling.

Why it matters now

European digital sovereignty is no longer a niche concern. EU battery regulations, the Right-to-Repair directive, GDPR enforcement, and governments migrating away from US platforms have created real momentum. Consumers are looking for European alternatives and finding nowhere to go for hardware.

Our approach

We don't pretend European tech is always better. We're honest about trade-offs: camera quality, ecosystem polish, brand recognition. Our goal is to give you the information to make your own decision.

Our "Switch" comparisons focus on products from US and Chinese companies. The motivation is the current geopolitical playing field and giving European tech a chance. But also data and privacy concerns play a role.

How we keep this website running

When you click a retailer link and buy something, we might earn a small affiliate commission. This is disclosed on every page. It costs you nothing extra, and it funds the site. We don't take paid placements or allow brands to influence ratings. On this website, you do not see advertisements. And we do not sell any data.

Privacy

We use counter.dev: open-source analytics from Germany. No cookies, no IP logging, no fingerprinting, GDPR-compliant by design. No cookie banner needed. We host on Hetzner (Germany).
